You can recognize Future Aces by looking at their behaviour, their actions, at how they interact with others and how they approach tasks. The examples from this page will describe some of those actions as they relate to each of the characteristics delineated by the Creed. The lists are by no means complete and make a great discussion exercise with students.

• listen effectively when others are speaking
  
• solve problems by talking them over to find solutions
  
• are ready to acknowledge when they are wrong
  
• know what to do about it when they are wrong
  
• lend a helping hand
  
• accept help graciously
  
• believe in themselves
  
• know when to say 'No.'

• complete homework consistently
  
• listen effectively in class
  
• attempt to solve problems using words, not the fists
  

Future Aces who demonstrate the above characteristics are people who:

• always look to help others
  
• are generous with their volunteer time
  
• think of others before themselves
  
• acknowledge the excellent play of the losers of a game
  
• are fair in their decision making
  
• take positive action in the face of adversity
